Initiate Shampoo is formulated to thoroughly clean and prepare, or clarify, hair for a perm or color chemical service. This alkaline (pH above 7) shampoo raises pH and opens the hair cuticle while cleansing hair by dissolving residual chemicals, such as hair spray polymers and silicones that might interfere with the chemical service.

NOTE: Perms and color services are alkaline. Acidic shampoos CLOSE the hair cuticle, leaving acidic residue on the hair that inhibits perm or color services. Thus, using an acidic shampoo (in the acidic range with a pH below 7) before a chemical service would lower pH, causing either inconsistent or negative application of color. Initiate Shampoo will ensure consistency and success of your color or chemical service if applied beforehand.
Directions:
Before Perm or Color – Apply an ample amount of Initiate on to wet hair. Work into a lather and rinse well before applying the perm or color. Initiate does not require any setting time, just wash and rinse.
Enhanced Chelating – For extra chelating, apply Negate as indicated on the bottle, then shampoo out with Initiate.
Negate Clarifying Treatment:
Double-duty clearing treatment! Used on wet hair before Initiate Clarifying Shampoo, Negate grabs even the most stubborn mineral and chemical deposits for the ultimate in cleansing. Applied to dry hair before freshwater, pool or saltwater exposure, Negate seals the hair shaft, stopping minerals and contaminants from getting in. The treatment is formulated with chelating agents that remove and eliminate chlorine green, cosmetic coatings, trace metals, medication, and salts. Use Negate to gently condition and restore hair to its natural state. This water-resistant liquid swim cap can be shampooed out with any Zerran shampoo.
Directions:
Apply Negate to dry hair before going swimming, to prevent chlorine green, then shampoo out with any Zerran shampoo
TO REMOVE ANY CHLORINE GREEN AND OTHER CHEMICAL RESIDUE:
Shampoo the hair with Initiate, rinse and towel dry.
Apply an ample amount of Negate throughout hair and leave on for 5 minutes.
Add Initiate shampoo directly over the Negate, lather, then rinse thoroughly.
FOR HIGHLY CHLORINATED OR MEDICATED HAIR:
Shampoo the hair with Initiate, rinse and towel dry
Apply an ample amount of Negate throughout hair, cover hair with a plastic cap under a warm dryer for 5-10 minutes.
Add Initiate shampoo directly over Negate, lather, then rinse thoroughly.
